the warehouse studio

The Warehouse Studio officially opened its doors at our Powell St. location upon completion of Studio 3 on July 9,1997. Studio 2 was completed and opened for business on February 9,1998. With final construction completed, Studio 1 was up and running on October 18,1999.

The studio is located in downtown's historic Gastown, nestled amongst great shops, eclectic restaurants and nightclubs. Concerts, sporting events, theatres and art galleries are all within a short walk from the studio.
North Skyline View
Our building, originally owned by the Oppenheimers, is the oldest brick building in Vancouver and at one time served as City Hall. Painstaking restorations both inside and out have retained the historical integrity and heritage quality of the original structure. Inside is a blend of modern amenities and state of the art recording equipment in a warehouse, loft-like environment of high ceilings, hardwood floors and exposed brick and timber.

For your convenience and privacy we have enclosed parking with secured entry to the front and back of the building. There is a small putting green and patio located in the courtyard which is not visible from the street.

Putting Green SpaceThe combined knowledge of musicians and technicians was instrumental in building the studio, with Ron O Vermeulen designing and supervising the technical and acoustic layout of the facility. Great attention has been paid to the practical side of recording as well as band comfort particularly for extended stays.

A great deal of custom work has gone into making the studio very unique in a number of aspects. All of our studios, located on separate floors, are comfortable and spacious with lots of natural light and have private kitchen and lounge areas.

We've created an environment that is comfortable, has a great vibe and is very conductive to the creative process both for the artist and their producer/engineers
